Supervisor – Lamb Boning

South Pacific Meats Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Supervisor to join our management team based at our Burnham plant in Christchurch.

We are seeking expressions of interest for an experienced and qualified lamb boning supervisor.

This position is an integral part of the plant and production management team and has functional relationships with slaughter, cold stores, MPIVS, AsureQuality, compliance, administration, asset management.

 The primary object of the role is to assist in the management of the processing of lamb, sheep, and bobby calves to company, customer and regulatory standards and to maximise the department’s profitability, efficiency while complying with all regulatory requirements.

 The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensure labour resource is utilised to maximise efficiencies and throughput
  • All compliance and regulatory requirements are strictly adhered to ensuring that the process is in control under HACCP
  • Ensure all boning is carried out to maximise utilisation while meeting customer specifications
  • Staff training, development and mentoring
  • Continuous improvement
  • All documentation is recorded and processed in an accurate and timely manner

Slaughtermen, Y-cut, flayers, etc

          Experienced beef and sheep slaughtermen with proven industry experience and good work ethic. 

Boners, trimmers, packers

          Experienced beef, sheep and venison boners with proven industry experience and good work ethic.

General Labourers

          Experienced in packing, bagging and some knife work. 

Whilst experienced staff are sought, there are a number of Entry Level/Trainee positions available to those seeking a career in the meat industry.  No experience will be necessary as training will be provided to the right individual.
