Meat Process Workers - SPM Malvern, CHRISTCHURCH

We require workers to join our busy team and train into entry level meat process workers at our processing plant in Burnham, south of Christchurch.

This is a fast paced and dynamic environment to work in and requires people that are reliable, motivated and fit and healthy with a positive attitude.

We are seeking applicants for a variety of processing roles across both day and night shift.

Successful applicants must demonstrate the following:

Industrial Cleaning Supervisor - SPM Malvern, CHRISTCHURCH

South Pacific Meats Ltd, Malvern is a modern sheep and beef processing plant at Burnham, south of Christchurch.

We are seeking a suitably experienced cleaning supervisor to lead our night shift cleaning team.

To be successful you will have had experience in coaching/training and mentoring staff, as you will be responsible for ensuring the team meets the standards and quality that we require for an export meat plant. Although this is a supervisory role it is also very hands on where you will be leading by example and supporting the team to ensure the job is done.

Ideally you will have experience in the meat industry however exposure to a similar industry will be considered. Also a familiarity with Health and Safety is essential.

The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate:

  • strong leadership skills
  • previous experience in a similar role
  • sound understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
  • good organisational skills
  • a commitment to health and safety.

Company Post Mortem Meat Inspector - SPM Malvern, CHRISTCHURCH

We are seeking committed and self motivated people for the position of Post Mortem Meat Inspector.

The successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out post mortem inspection of dressed carcases and their parts to identify conditions that may affect food safety standards.

Applicants must hold the NZQA Level Four Certificate in Animal Examination.

Key personal requirements include:

  •         Attention to detail and excellent organisation
  •         Being a friendly, approachable team player
  •         A great work ethic and can do attitude
  •         A proven track record of being reliable and punctual
  •         Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
  •         Previous experience within the meat industry or the food safety field is advantageous.
