We have the following vacancies at our plant:

EXPERIENCED PROCESSING STAFF

We are seeking experienced processing staff for a start in our new season.

  • BEEF BONERS AND TRIMMERS
  • LAMB BONERS/SAWMEN AND TRIMMERS
  • LAMB BUTCHERS – Y Cut, gutty/pelter, Halal Slaughter
  • BEEF SLAUGHTER – hide puller, halving saw, flanker, Halal Slaughter

While previous experience in the above roles would be an advantage, we will offer training to applicants with previous knife experience, a proven work ethic, good references and  who are willing to make a committment to the meat industry.

PAYROLL OFFICER

South Pacific Meats Malvern is seeking a suitably experienced Payroll officer to join our administration team. Although the main function of this role will be processing of the payroll for up to 350 seasonal staff, there will be other office based functions including preparing reports and assisting with accounts and managing incoming calls.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following key requirements for the role.

  • Experience with payroll processing and software
  • Knowledge of associated payroll legislation
  • High attention to detail and strong quantitative skills
  • High proficiency in the understanding of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Strong work ethic and drive to produce outstanding results
  • Good organisational/time management skills

 

YARDS SUPERVISOR

South Pacific Meats Malvern is seeking a suitably experienced Yard Supervisor for our stock yards to fill a vacancy in our upcoming season

Responsibilities include; receiving stock, completing all documentation and preparing kill agendas, animal welfare, cleaning and presenting stock for processing.

The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership skills,
  • Previous experience in a similar role,
  • Excellent stockmanship, with an empathy for animal welfare,
  • Sound understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements,
  • Good computer skills,
  • A commitment to health and safety.
  • Attention to detail

While previous experience in this role would be an advantage, we are willing to offer training to a successful applicant with suitable experience and the right attitude.

MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

South Pacific Meats Malvern is seeking a suitably experienced Maintenance Electrician to fill a vacancy in our existing trade’s team. The position is responsible for ensuring that plant assets are managed and maintained in a way that enhances the company’s short and long term objectives.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following key requirements for the role.

  • Ability to work within the existing trades team
  • A proactive approach that ensures the production departments experience minimal down time due to engineering/ maintenance requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills which compliment the need to manage a variety of priorities and demands.
  • Appropriate qualifications and engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
  • Hold a current electrical practicing licence.
  • PLC knowledge would be an advantage

Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and be prepared to work on a shift structure.

 

MAINTENANCE FITTER

South Pacific Meats Malvern is seeking a suitably experienced Maintenance Fitter to fill a vacancy in our existing trade’s team. The position will have a strong focus on ensuring plant reliability, diagnostics and repair, as well as being involved in the commissioning of additional plant and equipment.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following key requirements for the role.

  • Ability to work within the existing trades team
  • A proactive approach that ensures the production departments experience minimal down time due to engineering/ maintenance requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills which compliment the need to manage a variety of priorities and demands.
  • Appropriate qualifications and engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
  • Ability to weld all forms proficiently.
  • Hydraulics & pneumatics experience would be an advantage.
