MEAT INDUSTRY VACANCIES

We have the following vacancies at our plants:

Factory Labourers & Trainee Knife-hands - SPM Malvern, CHRISTCHURCH

This role is challenging work in a team atmosphere and with the understanding that our employees help to shape the future for our business and our industry.

As a committed member of the team, you will find yourself challenged and contributing in a significant way to the success of the business, and you will be rewarded for that success.

Applicants will be considered for any production vacancy in any department.

Specific department and schedules will be discussed during the interview process to find the right position based upon your interests and skills.

Currently working 8-11+ hours a day, 5-6 days a week (including weekend work), hiring for day shift and night shift.

As a member of the team you will be responsible for a lot of duties including being required to:

  • Use sharp knives, and other potentially dangerous equipment
  • Standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Wear personal protective equipment.
  • Lift or move boxes at a minimum weight of 20kg

Industrial Cleaners - SPM Malvern, CHRISTCHURCH

This role could be physically demanding at times so all applicants must be physically fit.

May include water blasting and machinery cleaning in hot and cold environments.

Our shifts are rostered to cover seven days a week and night shift hours are between 5:00pm and 2:30am.

To be successful in this roll you will need to:

  • have work history in cleaning
  • have great time management skills
  • be a self-starter
  • be physically fit
  • have a proven track record of reliability.

Slaughterers - SPM Malvern, CHRISTCHURCH

Highly regarded, the role of slaughterer requires you to work with expert precision while still being able to keep with the pace set by the team and equipment. As a member of the team you will be responsible for a lot of duties including:

  • Slaughter cows and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
  • Cut beef or quarters into primal cuts for further cutting, processing, or packaging, de-boning the cut meat into specific cut for commercial or other wholesale use.
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the Employer.

Experienced Boners & Bandsaw Operators - SPM Malvern, CHRISTCHURCH

  • Bone or slice high value, quality beef or quarters into primal cuts for further processing or packaging for both local and export commercial or wholesale use.
  • Taking pride in their work with strong attention to detail and the ability to listen and follow directions
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the Employer.
